Stevie Wonder in a keynote conversation at ASCAP Expo
Singer, musician, songwriter and producer Stevie Wonder was the finale speaker of the three-day-ASCAP annual “I Create” Music Expo in Hollywood at the Dolby Ballroom. (ASCAP meaning “American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers”)
Many young and less young composers attend the expo every year, to find answers to their questions, listen to inspirational experiences, and network.
ASCAP President composer Paul Williams introduced Stevie Wonder before a 90-minute conversation (supposed to be initially 60 minutes long) with 22-year old composer and singer Janelle Monáe.
Ms. Monáe has been personally asked by Mr. Wonder to be an interviewer of a day this Saturday afternoon.
Throughout the discussion, he answered her questions (and didn’t sometimes). Cherry on the cake: some answers at times were accompanied with short musical gigs, which made the fully packed ballroom very cheerful every single time.
That day, we can tell that everyone left the expo with a smile on his face after such a treat.
